Gose To Hollywood goes to M&S
Denmark’s acclaimed To Øl brand is extremely happy taht its much-loved Gose To Hollywood beer has been rolled out nationally in Marks & Spencer.
A staple favourite of craft beer fans worldwide and a beer which has helped To Øl establish itself as a regular fixture in the Top 40 RateBeer end-of-year polls, Gose To Hollywood (3.8% abv) is available as part of the new Marks & Spencer 440ml craft beer range.
Listed alongside several other acclaimed breweries, it’s a prodigious moment for To Øl, as it marks the first national UK listing with such a discerning retailer.
Gose To Hollywood – brewed with oranges – is the perfect balanced summer drink and an accessible gateway beer for those entering into the world of craft, the beer has also had a re-vamp, courtesy of the new To Øl City brewery (based in the village of Svinnenge, an hour’s drive west of Copenhagen) giving a more defined orange accent, whilst maintaining the crisp and refreshing peppery back notes of the classic Gose style.
To Øl, which translates as Two Beers, initially came about as a student brewing project in 2005, after Tore Gynther and Tobias Emil Jensen had a discussion on the merits of big brewers (or the lack of) with their college teacher – a certain Mikkel Borg Bjergsø. Mikkel the teacher famously went on to set up Mikkeller and the students soon followed in his footsteps, founding To Øl in 2010.
